Questions & Answers:
Q: This is just a question for the Archer folks. In general, how is an App-pack solution created? Is it just just a new solution configured in Archer or do we need coding behind the configuration in Archer? What is your opinion? In this Evalto solution, did he create a new solution configurate in Archer or did he use coding behind the configuration?
A: We see a mix of both when partners submit app-packs for the Exchange. A lot of them do contain custom code to make them work for the business process that they are designed to help with.
Q: Did Evalto specify the group needed for the field?
A: The "Submitted by" field was configured for "All Users", but the "Approved by" field was restricted to two of the out-of-the-box Third Party groups to demonstrate a user moving out of the group.
Q: So could you specify the user group for each field?
A: That's one of the benefits of the Evalto app-pack; you don't need to define the group for each field. We automatically look at the application configuration to see which groups are configured...then we see if the user is in any of the groups. It's completely automated.
Q: Does Evalto use AWF in the solution?
A: We are not using AWF, but the solution could be enhanced if necessary to accommodate more complex processes. Our workflow is a simple DDE based "workflow" and uses a simple report filter to drive the dashboard.
Q: Do customers need to purchase new license to use Inactive user pack?
A: The Inactive User Reporting app-pack requires one ODA and one Questionnaire to function. We license the solution based on the number of "configs" needed to manage your Archer environment. Evalto pricing is available here: https://evalto.com/products/archer-inactive-user-reporting/inactive-user-reporting-licensing/
Q: We have a user inventory recertification process on a quarterly basis. In this case, do we still need inactive user solution? What is the added value you think?
A: The Evalto Inactive User Report app-pack could help your recertification process in two ways.
First, the target application can be monitored before questionnaires are created and sent to users to ensure those users are active. That would save you time/effort so you don't have to clean up questionnaires which usually multiply the problem.
Secondly, you can monitor the recertification questionnaires while they are in process to keep the process moving forward in the event a user becomes inactive or moves outside of a group requiring access to the records.
This was the original reason we developed this solution.
Q: For the Evalto Inactive User App-Pack, did you use a custom code in addition to Archer configuration?
A: The solution is a combination of an ODA, questionnaire, custom JST code, and a custom object. It was all developed by Evalto, Inc. using the capabilities in the Archer platform.
