Q: Who should use Hosted Services instead of SaaS?
A: With the release of SaaS, we no longer plan to sell hosted. On-premise installations will be available for the foreseeable future. SaaS only replaces hosted in our sales cycle. All hosted customers will continue to be supported as normal. Please discuss this with your account manager to learn more.
Q: Excited for this new offering! Can you comment on pricing for the SaaS option? Will it cost more or less than hosted services?
A: That's highly dependent on your specific usage and situation. Your account manager will be best equipped to answer that question for you. They also have our current pricing sheets.
Q: Are you expanding GCP in addition to AWS as a SaaS option?
A: That isn't planned at this time but we are not tied to AWS. We are focused on getting good with one cloud before making decisions about adding more.
Q: Will LDAP work with Azure AD?
A: While we have not tested that, we believe it should work with Azure AD.
Q: Regarding the SaaS customer support model; if there is a critical issue that takes more than eight hours, i.e. the system is down, how does that support happen? I'm assuming that RSA works until the system is restored and doesn't stop at eight hours?
A: I believe this question is referencing the number of hours provided by a Dedicated Support Engineer. These hours are utilized for things such as problems with your app, workflow, and integration-based items. System-wide issues we are having and working to resolve would not be applied to that bucket of hours.
Q: Will you show the difference in support levels between SaaS Enhanced Support and what hosted environment customers receive?
A: SaaS is the only offering that comes with a defined level of support. Hosted or on-prem customers purchase the level of support they want today. Check with your sales team to review the various levels available.
Q: Does RSA Archer comply with FedRamp?
A: Not at this time but it is in the plans for the future.
Q: For existing self-hosted customers, when those contracts end, will they the option to renew under self-hosted if they so choose? Or will their only renewal option be SaaS?
A: We have no plans to discontinue self-hosted contracts. You will be able to renew for self-hosted.
Q: Can we use a field-level encryption function in SaaS?
A: Field-Level Encryption is a feature that’s not currently available in SaaS. Based on the multi-tiered encryption model we have today, we'd like to know more about what requirement that feature satisfies before deciding to do that work.
Q: Being on-prem, we heavily use the API and direct access to the Archer instance database for some of our integration automation. Will SaaS support this?
A: SaaS will not support direct database access and we generally discourage it. We are building more APIs that are accessible in SaaS to allow the same access to data without having to directly connect to the database.
Q: Will datafeeds that get data from on-prem databases still work?
A: You will still be able to pull data from outside data repositories. The real question will be how are you doing it today and does the approach need to change for tomorrow.
Q: To confirm from an earlier response, RSA will only sell hosted by RSA and SaaS? RSA will no longer sell on-prem models?
A: On-premises will continue to be sold. Hosted will no longer be sold.
Q: What additional features, not available to hosted customers today, do you anticipate becoming available in SaaS offering and when? (Archer Control Panel, log files, etc.)
A: These types of questions can be answered only in a roadmap call. We encourage you to register for one of our monthly calls here: Attend an RSA Archer Roadmap Session.
Q: You may not have the answer today, but is the roadmap to stop offering new implementations/migrations to hosted and instead offer only SaaS?
A: New implementations and migrations will be directed toward SaaS. You would need to work with your sales team for exceptions.
Q: For the SaaS offering, we're charged based on storage. Since there will be three environments, is the charge against all three environments?
A: Storage amount crosses instances/environments.
Q: Will all features promised in hosted work in SaaS? For example: mobile, Vendor Portal.
A: We are working through the feature parity items in a prioritized order. Things like mobile and Vendor Portal will work on SaaS. That said, we did make a callout in a previous question as to the need for Field-Level Encryption. We want to build impactful features, not just add it to SaaS to fulfill a list.
Q: Does the SaaS offer MFA including OTP (One-Time Passcode) capabilities?
A: It does not, but you should have the ability to utilize something of your own to accomplish this.
Q: As per RSA approving from email working only on on-prem.... will SaaS also support that?
A: SaaS currently does not support that feature, but is high on the list of parity items to address.
Q: I have a question concerning how moving to SaaS will occur? Will it be obligatory for hosted customers or hosted offering will continue?
A: Hosted customers will not be forced to move to SaaS. Contractual obligations will of course be honored.
