Q: What version of RSA Archer added Data Gateway to the Admin Menu?
A: Release 6.8.
Q: Can we list down the external fields since we made the connection already? This would help the admins.
A: The current version does not yet support that capability.
Q: I'm running Release 6.8 but I don't see Data Gateway in my Admin > Integration menu. Is there something I need to do?
A: You must first enable Data gateway in Archer Control Panel for that option to be available.
Q: Is it possible to include attachments ?
A: Yes, you will need to write a Custom Connector for that.
Q: Can you use Data Gateway out of the box or you must code your own connectors?
A: We have an out of the box connector available for connecting to SQL Database.
Q: Can you show an example where we have an Archer values list field to be linked with data gateway?
A: The out of the box connector does not support Values lists. You would require a custom connector for that.
Q: Can we use Data Gateway in 6.7?
A: Yes, but without the user interface. Release 6.7 has APIs available to configure Data gateway.
Q: What are the limitations of the out-of-the-box connector? Why would we need to create one?
A: It works only with SQL Server and it supports only Text, Numeric, Date and IpAddress fields.
Q: The lT ticket data shown was not saved in RSA Archer. Is it correct?
A: That is correct, the data is not saved in Archer database. That data would remain in external system.
Q: I'd like to understand the main difference (in few words) between traditional Data Feeds and Data Gateway
A: Data Gateway brings real time data into the Archer interface from a third party system without copying this data into the RSA Archer database. Data Feeds bring data into Archer asynchronously and there is a delay between when data feed is run and when content becomes available for use in RSA Archer.
Q: Do we need any programming skill for connecting with JIRA?
A: Connector are coded in C#.
Q: Is the out-of-the-box connector only SQL server? Does it work with Oracle?
A: Only SQL Server is available at this time.
Q: Where can I find the previous Free Friday Tech Huddle recordings?
