Archer Table Relationships through APIs
Our Archer instance is hosted by RSA. After successfully leveraging the REST API and the Content API to pull Archer content into our internal database environment, we have begun to explore the structure of the Archer tables that we feel may hold the relevant data that we would like to visualize. The first thing we wanted to do was isolate a single Metric and try to find said specific Metric Result. We started our search in the table called “Metric_Results”, there we found a field called “Metric_Name”, we looked for a particular Metric and found a single row. Within that row we found several fields called “Metric_Results_” with a number after them. Those fields held information that correspond to the last 6 submitted results of that particular Metric (please see the screenshot below), however, we were not able to find the Metric values for those Results.
We looked across the following tables for said values:
Has anyone done anything similar? Is there anything that would help us understand the relationship between the tables that are available via the Content API? Additionally, I was surprised to see the Metrics_Results in the screenshot above were expressed horizontally via new columns instead of vertically via new rows. While we can transpose that horizontal structure into a vertical one via an ETL process, I’m curious as to why the current structure was displayed.
