Archer to Archer Datafeeds using TODAY()
I have parent application called xyz. I have created [Current Date] date as calculated field using Today(). And subform is linked to xyz application. In subform i have date field named [Assign Date]. I am populating value for [Assign Date] through Archer to Archer Datafeed by using TODAY(). While DFM is executed at 9:00PM EST at 3/11/2020. After DFM execution Date field are populated as below
[Current Date] = 3/12/2020
[Assigned Date] = 3/11/2020.
I am confused how dates are populated with 2 different date for TODAY().
Archer version 6.5 P2.
I just assume that Today in DF using EST time, while in the record UTC. But just speculation. Thus asked if u can use UTC and test.
Kindest regards, I remain,
Were you able to resolve the issue? I am in a similar situation: When an end user performs an action after 9:00PM ET then Submit Date field displays next calendar day. My Submit Date is a calculated field and is using the TODAY () function. Is there any other function that I could display the Submit Date? Recommendations?
I was thinking if TODAY () uses UTC then changing the logic to any other Archer Date&Time function will still yield the same result? Is there any other design you can propose that does not use Archer Date&Time function?
Thank you for your response. For the moment we tried to trick Archer by applying a logic to subtract 5 hours from UTC time in order to display ET time. It will lead to issues during daylight savings but we have explained that to our business users and in the next iteration we will try to update the logic using NOW() as well.
