Automating Search Index Rebuild
I have asked our IT area to set up a monthly process to rebuild search indexes. They wanted to know if this is something that can be scripted. Has anyone done this?

I think you can probably pull this off using powershell. It can easily deal with the services. Running the SQL statements that are part of the rebuild might be handled by using invoke-sqlcmd and pointing it at an input .sql file containing the SQL statement to deal with tblSearchMessageQueue cleanup.
I have also head of people running powershell from a SQL Agent job.
So if all of permissions back and forth between the various accounts and systems were set up properly - it seems like you could pull it off.
I may tackle that for our next rebuild.
Let me know if you folks have any success. I'm very curious about doing this very thing now.
I have not tried it, but what if you stop Queuing service, delete all Index folder, start service again. In theory this should start rebuilding all indexes again.
Has anyone figured out how to automate the last step (click of the Rebuild Search Index button in ACP), which requires is a .NET call in the code behind of Archer?
