Calculating Values List with "Other: Other Text" value
I have 2 applications linked together. In the child application I have a values list field, [Field A] with 5 values including "Other" which requires the end user to specify "Other Text". In the parent application I have a field [Field B] with the same field definition including same values except the values are populated through a calculation from the child application. "REF([Child Application],[Field A])"
[Field B] calculates find unless [Field A] has the "Other" value selected. [Field B] has the "Other" value but is missing the "Other Text" specified in [Field A].
I would say, yes.
If you define totally the same VL in related app, and simply putting [VL_NAME_FROM_PARENT] calculation does not work, then either put Other text in separate Text field or use DataFeed.
I think I have the same question, my use case is a bit different, I am trying to use the field in a mail merge. I want the values to display, which I can get to work fine, but then if the value selected is 'other' I don't want the value to display, I want the other text to display. For some reason, my if statement is not recognizing the value = 'other' part, I have tested it and it continually evaluates to false.
