Calculation for multi select values list
I'm trying to build a calculation that will bring in the values from a multi select values list field, based on certain conditions. The calculation keeps throwing an error "A parameter "B2:C2" expected to be a single value was multiple values. Parameter name: B2:C2"
If I remove the IF from the calculation & just have the name of the values list whose values I wish to bring in, it works fine, but the moment I wrap it in an IF, it fails.
For example, my values list field is A13.
If my calculated field just has A13, the values are brought in.
However, if I just introduce a very simple IF statement, such as...
IF( 1=1, [A13])
The calculation fails.
I don't see why a condition should cause the calculation to fail.
Any help very much appreciated!
Version 6.6 P1.
This is completely my understanding. The reason why you get this error is because the IF statement is trying to evaluate if the condition holds TRUE for all the selections within the multi-selection values list field, thereby, it expects single value for evaluation.
Thanks for the response Arun Prasad.
Is this the case, even though the condition is not actually looking at the multi-selection values list?
Is Archer instead trying to evaluate the condition for all values contained within the values list field that it should return, based upon the condition?
So it would seem that it is not systematically possible, to include a multi-selection values list, in a calculation.
Is there any workaround to this?
Ultimately, I'm trying to get these values into a field in a cross-referenced application. As the relationship is a one to many, I need to define a condition to tell the system from which record it should take the values.
Well. As I said earlier, that is my perception totally.
How about an A2A datafeed to populate the VL field conditionally? or maybe use an API or Custom object?
