Copy Core application
- How did you copy Core application?
- Which version are you on? We are on 6.1
By the way I coundn't find the error Ref ID in Archer log. so I don't know what kind of error it is.
You can copy core applications and edit objects in them with some manipulations on the back end.
Majority of objects have System flag set in the core apps, so you can remove them and modify them.
Warning - test copied apps very well. There is hardcoded functionality that can't be deactivated in some apps like Findings, Questions library, Task Management and other. Test every possible scenario if you copied core app.
Our problem is that when we tried to copy a core application, we got error underway (the copying process wasn't finished yet) but we couldn't find anything from the log with provided Ref ID.
When we checked the apllication list, a copy was created, with all the fields. However when we tried to opened the "Layouts" tab, it crashed.
As you said, the copying process did not complete successfully. You might want to begin the process from scratch assuming you have not already done a lot of work on this copy. And probably raise your logging level and try to capture the logs because without the logs it would be difficult to troubleshoot.
Another option risky option:
1. Go to the database and change module GUID and module name for the given module you want to copy. I assume you will do it in none-production environment.
2. Generate a package with this module.
3. Restore original GUID.
4. Install the package. Since GUIDs do not match, "another" module should be created.
Possible side affect - some objects can be deployed by the package in a locked state since you package OOB module.
How did you fixed this issue ? we are also facing same issue.
While copying a core application it throws an error and also it does not generate and error log.
Copy was successful but when i try to open layout tab it throws an error/
