Hi all. Is it safe to assume that there is no way to retain all my calculated data feed fields when I click the Load Fields link to bring in new fields from the source report? I have about a dozen in my data feed and I'd hate to have to re-create them all and then re-map them. Any tricks?
The only way to prevent them is to work the calculations into a custom transform, and then they'll come out when you load the source. This can be done for calculations or static text values.
Not a bad idea, except our team has varying degrees of skill when it comes to XSL. And we have a bunch of lookup translation calculations. But I will remember this for the future!
To everyone who has run into this, I found out that if you recreate the calculated fields before moving to the Data Map tab, Archer will automatically re-map the just-created calculated fields to where they were mapped to before. So, sure, you still need to create the fields again, but you do not have to re-map them. This may be a bug or a feature, but I'll take it. 🙂
Put the new fields in the referenced report at the end. Then the Source Load will leave other mappings in place and add the new fields that need to be mapped. A thorough Knowledge Base article on this needs to be written.
