I tried few steps mentioned in this thread and had no luck in bringing the value over.
I am trying to import engagement record with business unit cross reference. Key field of the business unit is a text field. Business unit name has ampersand sign in it.
These are the following steps I tried below.
- I tried replacing "&" with "&" and no html option on.
- I tried replacing "&" with "&" and no html option on and changed the default value delimiter to pipe.
- I tried replacing "&" with "&" and html option on and changed the default value delimiter to pipe.

The incoming encoding needs to match the encoding that is being stored in the db for the key. Confirm encoding in db and match encoding coming int. I believe “no html” option does not encode. Can also do field level encoding using formula. See white paper in community under encoding to clarify this issue.
Thanks Raymond for the response. Are you referring to this article https://community.rsa.com/docs/DOC-42680? Does this applies to data import or only data feed. I am trying to bring the data via data import.
I had a similar issue today. In my case my key field is a value list and some of the values contain the special character &. I also tried the 3 solutions you mentioned and they also didn't work for me. The following worked for me:
- Do not replace the & character and set the HTML Formatting setting to: File Contains HTML Formatting
I didn't test it with cross-references but maybe it will also work.
