Embedding a Dynamic Report within a Record
Is there any way to pass search (filter) parameters to a report that is embedded within a record via a custom object?
For example, say the report displays a list of logged issues associated with different systems. I want the embedded report to only show those issues associated with the system(s) I select in another field.
Is that possible? Or is there another way? (I tried doing something with cross-reference fields but filtering doesn't seem to be an option there, and even if it were, I don't see a way to filter based on another field's value).
I'm interested in this as well. I'm using an on-demand app that captures metrics at a division level and I have the drill down showing the division. I'd like a click field/button that would pass to another application and run a report using the division id and date as the query in the other application. I'm used to relational databases and I can't make a double key but I made field that has the division id and date in the same field which I have in the division record if I could only filter on that value...
If this is all a fail I might have to make it leave archer into another application but was hoping I could keep the navigation within Archer. Seems I can drill down one to two levels. Can't get the third. Wanted to stay away from sub forms...
I know this post is a few months old. Have you found a solution? We are still on version 5.2 and I'm looking to do a very similar thing.
I can add a simple link to a report, but I want a dynamic report that I can pass in a parameter.
I haven't been able to. It would be really really nice to change filters in a report vs. having to save a bunch of static reports and trying to reference a report id (not feasible).
This makes it a real challenge when trying to report numbers at the company or top level and allow for the reporting to tier down to a "punch list" that might be 2 levels down. Archer just lets you do one level down (drill down) then record view.
I need drill down, go to another report with another filter(division or facility filter) then record.
Making 800+ static facility reports to link to isn't an option to manage.
Currently we are trying to build another interface in another database that looks similar and pass the view/interface in archer through the iframe(iview) to another system that looks similar.
I can pass the "parameters" from the record into a url link to another system with no problems...
Then just put a fake X (close) button like Archer does that just does history -1 so it goes back to the previous archer window like archer actually loaded the page.
What you can do to make it easier is to make a text calculated field which contains all the fields you need to show in the report and give them some IDs in order to get their values. For example:
"<div id='field1'> " & [field] & "</div>".
After setting all the fields, you can get their values and give the input to the chart that you have imported.
Is there any solution for this problematic?
I am trying to do the same but so far I have never succeed in it....
Please let me know if yo uhave found a way to make it works!
