Get question text in export along with answer
First go to the question library and modify the result as per the questionnaire/questions you wish to export and then look for the export link on the top right hand side. Now generate the export file in the required format.
We are not using the question library. The questions are created the questionnaire. All I can select is the name of the question, there is no option to select the text.
We are looking to get the question number, question text and question answer in reports.
Yeah, I think you are missing the point of why we want the question text exported. My client needs to fill out a questionnaire at the end of filling out the questionnaire they want to export it and they want the question text with the question names. I can't ask them to go into the QL (which they probably don't have access to anyway) and answer the questions again. We are also using DDE that hides some questions based on the answers to other questions and some sourced data. Not all questions in the QL are actually answered in every questionnaire.
I found that you can export the questionnaire as HTML and than use the "Export to Microsoft Excel" option from the HTML document. It's not very pretty, but it has the question numbers, text and answers.
Trying to follow along but not getting it. Went to advanced search in the questionnaire, added a couple question fields. Ran the report, get answer to the questions in search results. Export to html, same thing.
As an Administrator I can run reports to get field details. I am looking for something users can do.
Thanks for the idea. I tried it and the problem is once you open the html doc (in Word not a browser) it puts it in a table and breaks up the answer text onto multiple line if it wraps to a new line. It is an option to use and maybe I can merge the Excel export and the html export together somehow.
Louis, my response was mostly for annettegb who seems to be looking for a way to export all questionnaire info from individual questionnaires (since export as excel and csv do not display the question text). In your case, since you want to run an entire report with question numbers and text, the only way I have found to get this information is by adding the question text to the question name (or replacing the current question name), it will than display in the header of your report. Also, to avoid displaying the name and text (which might be the same at this point), you can hide the question name on the questionnaire. This field will be available to the end-user to select for reporting.
