Inline editing not staying checked after Apply or Save
We are on 5.5 SP1. When I check the Inline Editing option for a record permissions field, the option does not stay enabled after I save or click Apply. I did not see this issue in the documentation.

Are you only saving/applying the field, or also the parent application immediately after? I've noticed some quirks with field settings like that if I only save the field, but fail to save the application too.
We also have this with one of our customers. I was able to narrow the cause: Everything is fine until the first rule is defined for the field. Then we cannot activate Inline Editing any more. We will reach out to support.
I have noticed that I check the field, save and close the field, then when I go back in the option is unchecked. I just looked up my version again, 5.5 SP2. I am wondering if there is some limitation with this version. I am looking through documentation now.
Have you tried setting your option on the field, then saving (not applying) the field, and finally saving (not applying) the Application? Does the option then stick if you drill back in to the Application and then the field?
I would assume they will say to you that it's "intended functionality". I say this because, essentially, once you add a rule to a perm field it becomes a calculated field, and calculated fields are not eligible for inline editing.
I'm also facing the same issue. And I think there should be an exception for this.
It's because it's the Manual Record permission only, where we can set rules per user and we can't configure such record level restriction with an Automatic record permission type where it only allow groups and NOT users.
As a workaround, we need to configure DDEs to make the form/fields read-only where they should have read access.
Any other suggestions?
