Is Microsoft Office Needed on SQL Server?
Hello, quick question: I was asked by our systems team if the SQL server our Archer instance is dependent on needs Microsoft Office installed. I don't have any visibility to our SQL servers, so I'm not well versed in that side of things. Is Microsoft Office needed? Does it provide additional features? I see that Microsoft Office 2019 and 365 are both "qualified" but curious what value or functionality they provide.
Thanks in advance!
But I think that Filter Pack is still needed on a server for searching on keywords across attachment document?
Problem is MS Filter Pack is part of the MS Office, and thus you may need to install MS Office components on server. Because the one available in the MS is Filter Pack 2.0 from 2016 Office? And 6.9 requires Office 2019?
Oh, yeah, true. I forgot is it about SQL server, and meant bout Archer servers overall 🙂 My bad.
But still, the one available from the MS downloads site is filter pack from very old office. Does it mean that such old Filter Pack is not acceptable anymore and you need to install from the 2019 Office?
I think this is an Update not the Pack itself, at least based on the description. ANd the main component itself still from a very old version considering recent offices versions.
