We are installing Archer v6.5 (fresh install) for one of our customers. They already have an instance which is running v6.1. We would like to know, if we can use the existing v6.1 license for the fresh install of v6.5 and decommission the v6.1 instance? Kindly provide your insights. Thanks.

I used 6.1 license for fresh 6.6 even with no issues, except possible Use Cases mismatch due to exact licensing.
Better first to align with Sales to check if your old license would cover new use cases and resolve, otherwise, you may miss some solutions and applications.
Can you clarify on whether the legacy core solutions & applications will have issues or the new use cases associated with v6.5 - if we re-use the existing v6.1 license?
Well, e.g. we did not have Cyber Incident Response use case in our license, but 6.6. comes with it. Meaning you will not see it most probably. Same for for ISMS. Thus, better to check with your Sales first.
And some of our apps were related in 6.6 to the new use case, and we had such apps disappeared until we negotiated and got new license.
Sure David. We are actually planning to install v6.5 in a new infrastructure. I came across a thread which talks about a survey to get the new license key. I was little confused on whether to acquire a new license or re-use the existing license. So, just though of confirming once on the same. Thanks.
