Migrating from on-prem to saas
We are planning to migrate our on-prem instance to Saas.
What are the key things we are supposed to take care of or think through?
Any documentation pointer is highly appreciated.
I don't have an answer but we are also thinking along those lines and I am most curious about how it would impact the structure of our current configuration team. Do we lose any configuration capabilities? or gain any?
Your Archer account manager should be able to help you get started.
For our customers with on-prem deployments there's a questionnaire to complete and we review instance configuration reports.
This helps us know your sizing and whether you're using functionality that may not be currently available in the SaaS environment. (For example, Database Query Transport type isn't available for data feeds in SaaS.)
We are then able to have high-level conversations around other methods for achieving the objectives and whether it's a right step forward.
When you are ready to migrate to SaaS our Professional Services team will engage to help ensure you have identified all of the necessary changes and are aware of best practices around altering procedures and implementing necessary changes.
This Professional Services migration engagement will be a part of your onboarding experience.
The first step is letting your account manager know you're interested and then they will start pieces moving.
Hope this helps!
In addition to what was said by BJJohnson , cloud migration was discussed in the past. Though it is just any cloud, not RSA hosted SaaS:
