Notification on Record Content Changes
Looking to setup a notification that triggers when any field changes in a record. I don't want to specify all the potential fields that could change as there are a ton of them. I've already attempted to set the rule criteria to look at the "Last Updated" system date field such that if it "Changes" then trigger the notification event. That assumes a record save is performed. Unfortunately this didn't trigger the notification.
Anyone come across this yet?
As a bonus, it would be ideal to somehow specify in the email body which field changed.

What if I have a big list of fields that I need to track? I have the same issue with Notification but I have multiple fields on the layout to keep track of. Is there any other better way to trigger notification?
If the list of fields that you aren't tracking for changes is small enough you can add them to a rule with the changed operator but in the Advanced Operator Logic use NOT(1) OR NOT(2) OR NOT(3) and so on. Then trigger the notification.
Thanks David for this workaround.
Although, I am able to capture the current date (last updated) via DDE but unable to trigger notification. Actually, I have another application B cross referenced in the current application A (A has many-to-one relationship with B) and I am trying to trigger notification through app B after calculating the latest date among all the "Last Updated" date from related records of B.
I have tried triggering DDE/subscription notifications through calculated text/date fields in app B with the filter criteria as "field value is changed", but all went in vain. I am not sure where I am going wrong.
Calculation in related app is not considered as "hard-kick", and notifications such as instant/DDE are triggered over hard triggers, such as user direct interaction.
