Record Permissions - How it works?
We are trying to achieve the working of both manual and automatic record permissions together in a same application is it possible.?
We require the selected set of users in an Audit to view the record when its a confidential audit. This is achieved by Manual Record Permissions
We require all the users to have Read access to the record if the audit is Non-Confidential. This is achieved by Automatic Default Record Permissions
But both Manual and Automatic permissions aren't working appropriately together at the same time.
Is this possible?
As Sir Petty mentioned, all the record permissions act independently but produce a final optimistic view.
In this case, your Automatic Record Permission field would need a rule that ONLY granted access when it was Non-Confidential. Then no one by default would get that access (although you probably want a small group to have default access to confidential ones like the managers/admin of those so they can name the manual record permission if needed).
