Roll back Data Import
Is there a way to roll back a data import that screwed up the formatting on a text field? All of the HTML tags (Paragraphs, tables, etc) are missing. The data import was done over a month ago, so I cannot roll back the whole system only the records that were updated in this particular data import.
There is not a way to perform such a rollback currently in the product. You can re-run your import file with the corrected data to overwrite the bad data. Rollback capabilities can be suggest and voted on over at https://community.rsa.com/t5/rsa-ideas-for-the-rsa-archer/idb-p/archer-ideas.
Thanks Scott, I exported the text field data to excel. I can see some of the formatting is still in the cells, but when I import it back into Archer, the formatting does not stay. Is there a particular file format that I save it in to retain the formatting (new paragraphs, etc)?
If the data is going into a Text Area field type which has rich text capabilities, as opposed to a Text Field which does not, you can embed HTML tags in the data to have it display properly. <br> does a line break.
Unfortunetly, I had exported the field without retainint the HTML tags. and then imported the field without tags. Do you know if there a way to automate getting the HTML tags back into the excel file that I just exported?
If you ran an import back in without the tags, then the only way I can think of to get them back would be to restore a backup of your database somewhere where you still have the tags, and then run the export out of there.
