When doing Advanced Package Mapping for a use case package, you may not be able to map the application into the same application, even if it has the same name.
Example: When attempting to map "Technologies" application into the "Technologies" during the ITSVP Use Case package installation. You may get the below error: Image description
"You are attempting to map to a system-controlled object in the target instance. This operation is not allowed."
In some Use Cases, applications are deprecated and replaced by a new application with the same name and a different GUID. By design, it is not possible to map the new application into a deprecated application.
Follow the Use Case documentation for instructions on what steps are needed to properly retire the deprecated application and migrate the data from the old application to the new application ( if applicable)
In situations where the Use Case documentation does not provide steps for replacing the deprecated application and migrating your data, you can choose to "Do Not Map" the application and then migrate the data at a later time. Additionally, assistance for migrating data from deprecated applications is available through RSA Professional Services.
