Error message "Data value too large" when attempting to submit a support case on the RSA Community

Issue

The error message below is displayed when a user attempts to submit a support case.

Correct the highlighted errors and try again.
Data value too large.

Cause

This error will occur if the user has text or special characters in the Phone field that are not in a standard phone number notation. For example, if the text in that field says "Cell: 801-555-1234" then this issue will occur, as only a phone number is expected in the field.

Resolution

To resolve the issue, simply click the "Update" link in the Contact Details section and update the Phone field with a valid phone number and save the change. After returning to the case creation form, submitting a case will be successful.
