AxM - Apache Agent Crashing and Hanging on Startup.
Shared pool failed to start after restart of webserver. New watchdog process tries to start pool and it seg faults (signal 11). Watch dog process retries 3 more times and gives up. At other times the watchdog process will be successful on the 2nd or 3rd attempt. The watchdog process logs will show the following activity:

<2011-11-22 23:51:04 -0600> started proxy 1896622
<2011-11-22 23:51:08 -0600> pool process 1896622 terminated by signal 11, restarting.
<2011-11-22 23:51:08 -0600> pool process crashing within 5 sec
<2011-11-22 23:51:08 -0600> pool process exiting too rapidly, something is wrong, giving up
The agent logs will contain the following error:
2011-11-23 10:16:30 -0600 - [2571] - <Critical> - Critical error: UNKNOWN_AUTH_RETVAL
The issue was in a code which prints the pool information. If the property "log_pool_option" is set to NONE then the issue would not happen.
This has been fixed with hot fix for RSA Access Manager Agent v4.7 for Apache 2.x on AIX. Contact RSA Security Customer Support to obtain hot fix 4.7.0.72.
