AXM: Explain the warning that accompanies LDAP startupfailuremode
The LDAP parameter, "cleartrust.data.ldap.startupfailuremode", that was introduced in 5.5.3.7 came with the following note. Customer would like further explanation.
# Note:
# Setting this to "soft" may have a negative impact on performance, and
# should only be done in particular customer environments.
Resolution
The warning was due to the current behavior whan a datastore is marked bad. When the ldap disableservertime has elapsed, we blindly re-enable the pool. As the directory may still be down, this results in a short period of attempts while operations (predictably) fail, we disable it and fail over (again). Currently issue CTSRV-3276
Disable server time is the parameter that specifies the interval to wait before attempting to use a directory server that is currently unreachable.
When the down store is finally brought back on line , it will be picked up on the next elapsed disableservertime.
