Alert and/or Report on "unknown" device?

If there is a discovered but unknown device on my network, is there a way to set a View and subsequently create a Report that would show this?

Yes, there should be a NIC System message for this... the easiest way to find what that msg ID would be is to use a REGEX match against an your most recent 'unknown' IP.  Also, I think the standard NIC View in the alerter alerts on device discovery as well.
