enVision Test Environments
Has anyone deployed a test/development enVision environment? We have an LS system which we'd like to replicate in VMWare for testing changes and updates prior to rolling out to production. Has RSA expressed an opinion on whether such deployments can use existing licenses legally? Is there any other sort of licensing available for these non-production test beds?
Thanks for the info.
I have an old all in one and a stack I used for dev work - this year the virtual appliances will start being delivered so I'll replace the physical equipment with virtual ones for developement and testing.
The four items I am aware of are an all-in-one appliance and a remote event collector in the first half of 2011 and a LS stack and virtual router late in the second half of 2011. These are not rtm dates, but just indications of when they will alpha/beta the products and as with all product development dates do tend to slip. I am sure that as they move closer to a release date for the beta’s or finished products there will be plenty of communications about this.
For STRICTLY DEV - you could P 2 V an ES system and use it in a isolated enviornment. Don't expect to get support on a P 2 V'd machine. However, you are breaking MS licensing agreements, but you then could replace serial and binaries for the virtual edition.... just some thoughts...
