EventExplorer and Linux
Hi,
Did anybody manage to run EE on Linux? It is Java application so I suppose it is pretty simple to port it to Linux, but I was not able to find what classes I have to run using jvm on Linux.
I was able to run Windows version using Wine (www.winehq.com), but some portion of functionality does not work well..
Regards

The Event Explorer does not currently run on Linux and is not supported. It is supported for Windows and the MAC. It would require a port/test cycle with the appropriate Eclipse libraries for Linux to be supported.
If there is a high interest in Linux support for EE, please let us know so that the activity can be prioritized/schedule.

Hi,
I am not customer, but partner. Most of the time I work on Linux environment, which contains tools no available in Windows. The only tool I need, which is not available in Linux or I am not able to run it through Vmware (because of memory requirements). Many of my customers in security and IT departements are using Linux on their desktops. In my opininion this is more common than MAC.
Regards
PS. EE is working on Linux through wine 1.1.9 (www.winehq.org).
