Global table and Datastore table use/modify
EE 4.1.0 can use only two tables for making traces - Global table and Datastore table.
Well, lets assume that for our purposes we need to use an "Application" column from table "Application Firewall" in EE trace.
You will see that there isn't any "Application" column in Global table, but there is a "Service1" column in Datastore table that contains exactly the information from "Application" column from table "Application Firewall".
Ok...) Lets assume that for our purposes we need another one column, but these column will be only in Global Table. But we need to use both columns in one trace.
How we could use columns from Global table and Datastore table in one trace? Could we modify the properties of columns in Global table and Datastore table - add some columns to them and change the size of variables for columns? And we didn't find any Datastore table xml, does anybody know where is the directory with it?
When you create a trace in EE 4.1 you have three models to choose from: universal, global and data store. that means you can't mix columns from the three models in one trace.
There is no data store table but you can find the mapping from the variables in device XML to columns in data store by checking : overview -> Messages -> Manage variable on your enVision UI. The last column on the right pane is what you can use in your datastore based EE trace.
Finally, since you are using EE 4.1, I would recommend using the universal table model, you should have all the columns you need to build your trace.
I found this theme on community:
And my mistake is that I didn't install content update on my client workstation, so because of that i can't use Universal Table model.
But while I'm trying to install it throught command line I receive message in attachement.
It's not my day today
Don't know what to do with this ENVISION environment variable... ?
You can't see the universal table data model because you are running enVision 4.0 SP3. The universal table is available in enVision 4.1, although EE 4.1 supports the universal table data model you will not see this option unless you are connecting to enVision 4.1 server
Ahmed, thank you again!
We will necessarily update our EnVision appliance, and check the availability of universal table mode in EE, but the problem with environment variable on client workstation is not concerning with version of enVision.
