How to reset peak severity
For those of you that use the Enterprise Dashboard and other alerting features, how do you reset the peak severity of an alert catagory? The functionality of the GUI seems to have a builtin feature, but doesn't work for me. Support instructed me that I had to restart the alerter service to reset. What have you all found?

restart is not a good option at all in my opnion,
because it clears all the other views as well hence deletes all the alerts history - not a very good solution to a production envierments especially if you're obligated to regulations.
i'm also looking for a solution to this bug but still empty handed.

Any solution with "restart" in it is not a viable solution in my mind. It seems that the UI has the ability. In the Alerts/Real-time Detail screen. If you click on the Peak Severity colored square for one of the listed Alert Details, you are given a window to reset the peak severity. If you choose yes, this does nothing.
