Network Interface Card Settings for LC on an LS Dell PowerEdge 2950 System...
Quick question concerning an oddity that I have discovered... When I RDP to the Collector, choose the domain to log into (not the "local" or "this computer only" choice) I get an error that says the domain can not be found and to contact the system administrator. If I choose the "local computer" drop down, I can RDP into the Collector just fine. On the Collectors settings for the two NIC's that are installed (i.e. one for the LAN and one for the Switch) one is set up for the "LAN" with the IP that was set during reimage/install and the other NIC's IP for the Switch of course has a different IP and subnet mask. Also, the DNS server IP's are different for each NIC. Is that what is causing the "domain can not be found" error when trying to RDP into the Domain through the Collector or does it have to do with the network settings for the cards being different (i.e. IP's, Mask, DNS)?? Let me know if I need to clarify anything... Thanks!
Depends on what DNS servers are set. They should refer to the D-srv IPs, which can then forward DNS lookups out to your network. If d-srv IPs are used, then a support case is a good idea. You may have bigger issues.
