We agree....the point of converging the products is to take the best from each to make a much more effective next generation SIEM solution which both delivers on traditional SIEM capabilities (log collection, archiving, correlation/alerting, compliance reporting etc...) with other key security capabilities such as full network packet collection, threat intelligence, malware analytics, big data archiving/analysis, security reporting/alerting etc...So that the combined solution can both deliver on the traditional SIEM needs as well as simultaneously pivoting to be more effective against detecting advanced attacks.
