Problem for implementing Microsoft Operation Manager supported device.
I meet serious problem to adding "Microsoft Operation Manager (MoM)" to "enVision".
Initially, I thought this problem was due to "enVision" version (3.5.1 b084). However, from a few weeks I have updated to 3.5.2 b170.
Indeed more accurately, my problem can be detailed like this: "all logs collected for our MoM plateform (MoM is hosted on a W2K3 server) are recognized like Windows asset, not like MoM asset.
Thus, my only question is "Have you already succeed to implement MoM to envision? ".
I don't want especially a technical support reply, but I would like keep believing MoM is really supported...
Thanks enVision-ers,
Julien

Unfortunately YES...
First, I have discovered W2K3 log events. Then, I have marked it with "Multi-device" checkbox from the "Manage Monitored Devices" menu. Then I have tried:
- First, I have waited to see if MoM was automatically detected and added into enVision. But enVision hasn't discovered the MoM Part.
- Then, I have manually defined the MoM device into the "Manage Monitored Devices" menu (and I have activated Analysis). However, enVision hasn't discovered MoM, neither in "Analysis > Event Viewer" menu, nor in the NAS content (neither in "TMP" folder where is located NUGGETS, nor in "VOL1" share). None events have been tagged as a MoM content.
In other hand, I haven't setting up the W2K3 server where MoM is hosted (except the Domain Administrator Windows account registration, and the Remote Registry Service activation). Therefore, it seems not very strange that I collect only events from the W2K3 Events Viewer and not events form assets monitored by MoM...
That's why I would like to know If anybody have successfully implemented MoM into envision following the RSA pre-requisites (detailed at the SCOL RSA website).

Hi Julien,
I've sent a message out to PS to find out if they know of any production implementations. I totally understand why you'd like to hear from other customers using it live. In the meantime, have you opened a ticket in SCOL?
Best,
Debbie

Yes a case has been opened to RSA support but without success for the moment.
Except RSA support and "enVision Community", we have no means to make troubleshooting (no public Troubleshooting Guide available notably). That's why I try alternative means to understand my problem, hoping other "enVision" users have known this case. Do you think the goal of this forum is not to share feedbacks in order to solve problems?
Indeed, I have several little problems like that, and it would be very useful to use this forum to submit these (, notably (why not..) in order to make a knowlegde base of resolved cases.
Regards,

Hi Julien,
I just wanted to make sure you'd opened a case so that Support was working it simultaneously. I think it's great that you posted this issue here because others who have seen it may chime in.
Since we just relaunched this forum in March, I put up a poll a few weeks ago to see why people visit. Interestingly, 33% visit for troubleshooting purposes, so you are not alone! Only 12 people have voted so far, so please submit your response if you haven't already.
I think it's great for people to come to this forum to share troubleshooting issues/tips. I also think it's also a good idea to submit any issues to Support as well.
Thanks!
Debbie
