Im looking to do the UDS course, ive been oked by the business to take it, im after abit of feedback on anyone that has done the course. Ive read a few posts on the forums, they suggest the course was pretty pointless? Surely that cant be the case? Any feedback would be great thanks guys/girls.
Sadly we had an partner organization who sent two people to the UDS course. They got back and never used the information. In fact, when we met with them, they told my boss that the course was "useless." After that, my organization refused to send me. Based on one meeting with a group of people we trust.
Your mileage may vary, but keep in mind that RSA is *supposed* to release a GUI based event source creator sometime soon. That will make the UDS course less useful in the long run.
Here is the information about the GUI-based event source creator...
"...Coming soon in 2010 is the Event Source Integrator (ESI), a wizard based tool to simplify the support of new event sources..."
From the Q4 2009 RSA Newsletter.
We are currently updating the UDS course to include the new ESI tool. I would welcome any feedback on the existing course so that we can improve the materials. Below are some questions that would help us to refine the course. Please provide your feedback by February 26th so that we can incorporate it in the next release.
When did you attend the UDS course?
Who was your instructor?
Did you have any xml experience when you attended the course?
What were your expectations going in to the course? (What did you expect to get out of it?)
What was the most valuable part of the course?
What was the least valuable part of the course?
What would you change about the course?
