views and alerts

I was posed with a question on why a view only holds the information for a few minutes.  .  Also I want someone to tell me where and how you can view that event.

What version of envision are you running? Envision re-syncs alerts after the configured date and time marker or number of alert events are reached.

One question I have is how many alerts are being generated in the timeframe your talking about? As I recall the alerts are re-synced after the alerts reach 10K rows in 3.7. 

I would look at what alerts are being generated and see if there is some problem somewhere. I have seen where the alerts view resets every couple of min when I had a problem with an Envision service or a runaway process on a device that I was alerting on and it generated 10K alerts in a short amount of time.

you should know that every time you restart the alerter service the real time screen clears up, you can set up the alert history to show the data for a bigger amount of time or view all the alerts in a report. also as mentioned here there is a default threshold of 10K rows and then envision clears it up you can change it but more logical way is to figure why you have 10K of alerts (probably there are lot of false positives there ) in an ideal environment you should have about 10 alerts per day otherwise you wont be able to maintain the work.
