Business Role and Technical Role
Hi,
What is in IGL the difference between Business Role and Technical Role?
If I collect app-roles from an endpoint, is it a business role? Technical Role?
In terms of functionality, they are the same or being business role has less functionality of a technical role?
Thanks
Shanelle

Hi Shanelle,
If you collect app-roles from an endpoint using an EDC it will be an Application Role, not a Business or Technical Role.
From a BRM perspective, this is an extract from the help section roles:
- Business Roles — Includes users and typically includes technical roles as entitlements via a hierarchical parent role relationship with technical roles.
- Technical Roles — Includes entitlements and are typically child roles to business roles.
- Global Roles — Includes both users and entitlements.
Broadly there is no real difference in how the managed role types behave in BRM though.
