IGL 7.0.2 - How to clear out old saved reports
Surely in this day and age there must be a systematic option for clearing out old saved reports? There are purging settings for emails, logs, redundant WF variables, etc. but I cannot see anything for report results.
And before anyone suggests doing it manually from the UI, that is an incredibly slow and time-consuming operation. That may be an issue with our system causing the delete operation to be very slow, but the mere presence of all the old reports could be the contributing factor. This would/should be a regular activity, so I do not see why our support team should have to do it.
Is it as simple as DELETE FROM AVUSER.T_AV_REPORT_RESULTS WHERE SAVE_DATE < 'dd-mon-yyyy'? I am wary of doing that simply because a) I think the application should provide suitable options to achieve the same end result and b) that table contains a nested table (which holds the individual report rows) and I don't know how the delete would behave.

Report results can be deleted in bulk in the UI in present versions of the product. My suggestion would be to upgrade to the most recent version, and leverage this functionality.
Thanks for that, but we knew that already. My challenge/question was more about options to define bulk deletion/retention and have the system do it automatically, e.g. "keep last n instances of results for report x", "remove all report results older than 2 years", etc.
Looks like I am being wildly optimistic (again) about features. Will just have to sit there and delete them in blocks manually.
