In versions before 7.0.0 we never used to provide any guidance on supported remote agent platforms. Someone pointed this out about 5 years ago and that resulted in this paragraph in the Installation Guide but since then it was never revisited. As far as I am aware at that time the remote agent worked on all platforms that were tested. I would assume the same would be true now but I cannot make that statement officially.
If you want an official statement we would have to make a request to engineering for this information. Likely this would come out for the next version of the product.
What is more important for the Remote Agent and what is not mentioned in the installation guide is the java version. You should use a java version and sub version that is contemporary with your IG&L java version. Using older or newer versions is likely to cause issues.
Hi Patrick ,
Engineering tested Remote Agent setup in Windows 2016 with v7.2.1 build. It is working fine.
We Will update the documentation reflecting the same.
Also, requested engineering testing against Windows 2019 release.
It looks like these additional environments will be qualified and documented for the next release.
The engineering statement is that these should work with current version as well.
