RSA 6.9.1 to RSA 7.0.2
We are moving from RSA IMG 6.9.1 to RSA IGL 7.0.2. Instead of going for upgrade, how about going for a fresh installation and migrating the data. Has anyone followed this process? Please let us know if that worked or had issues.
Current system is integrated with StealthAudit also.

If you want to keep all the history which is in the system when it comes to Approvals, Reviews, etc... stick with an upgrade would be my advise. Only when you can permit to lose all this information would I suggest a fresh install.
Migration all this history yourself from your current environment to a fresh 7.0.2 is a no-go in my opinion. I don't see how you can figure out all the database relations (as mentioned above) without the help of RSA and a lot of time invested (thus money).
I would just try to create a clone of your current environment and upgrade that, see what happens.
PS. also contact the topic-starter in the below thread. They have just taken this exact upgrade path it seems.

What do you mean when say migrating the data?
Do you refer to the actual data (users, accounts and etc..) which is stored in the DB or you refer to the configuration metadata?
Have you identified the pros and cons in that approach vs the other upgrade approaches?

Remember that database schema is different between these versions. So, it leaves with you with two options in my opinion, if you want to go with a fresh install. i) Prepare custom data migrator ii) do an in-place upgrade of the current instance (preferably a copy of it).
Option 1 will require extensive knowledge of the schema and data relationships and thorough testing. Option 2 will allow to you prepare the current instance for 7.x which you can backup and then restore to fresh 7.x instance.
