Packet Concentrator is taking a long time to initialize

Hi All ,

While doing a testing, one of my packet concentrator(version 10.5.x) hung and i need to restart it but waited for indexes to rebuild but after long hours ,still it is in "initializing database" state and also im getting below errors.

NwConcentrator[16828]: [Index] [debug] Index error is being initialized

NwConcentrator[16828]: [Index] [debug] Index parse.error is being initialized

Also ,i ran for reducing the index slices but my save.session.count of concentrator is 600000000(default for version 10.5.x).

What could be the possible causes for this & how can i rectify the issue?

Hi Pranav,

Good morning,

First we need to know how long does it still need for to finish the index rebuild process. Once the re-index process is finished it should go out of the initialization phase and start aggregation.

To know how much does it need to re-index you can do the below command:

cat /var/log/messages | grep -i etf

The last entry of the logs will show the time it still needs.

If you need help interpreting the logs, please send them so I can check them for you.

Thanks for your valuable revert.

When i investigated in device i could see below logs :

NwConcentrator[8736]: [Index] [info] Indexing updating sessions 113882371144 to 113882372143 with ETF: 0 hours, 0 minutes (99%)

I raised the concern due to the issue is occurring for the second time from last week.Now i see device is fine.
