RSA Access Manager RHEL5 to 7 upgrade advice
Thanks in advance for reading my post and responding! I'm a software engineer in large US-based company. I've been tasked with upgrading two Java-based modules currently running on Red Hat Enterprise GNU/Linux 5.11 (Tikanga) to 7.6 (Maipo). There modules are integrated with RSA Access Manager.
My first task is setting up a working copy of the components in a development environment. I have limited access to our system administration staff. Thus our typical work pattern is to do as much as possible within development then if needed ask our sys-admin folks for help. This works well for most of the Free Software components I typically work with. Thus my first "please advise" orbits around download and install questions. Our sys-admin staff does make available "sandbox" hosts for senior staff such as myself. On such hosts we have root access.
The first thing I would like to get installed on my sandbox host is "RSA Authentication Agent 8.0 for Web for Apache Web Server" Side note: On page 13 (and elsewhere) of the install guide it shows the command "cd /usr/sbin/httpd" should that be "cd /usr/sbin"?
Based on the install script and the document it appears I must install "RSA Access Manager" first. Is that correct? My conclusion here orbits around the mention of the file /var/ace/sdconf.rec (see page 14 of the Installation and Configuration Guide). Is it possible to install these items for development purposes without a paid-for end-user-license?
Thanks for the reply. I am attempting to install the following product:
The install script makes reference to /var/ace/sdconf.rec. Page 14 of the install guide says "Get the sdconf.rec file from your Authentication Manager administrator." Thus I believe I must download and install "RSA Access Manager Server 6.2" Alas, I am not sure how to do that.
Thus my question is: How can I download and install RSA Access Manager Server 6.2? Is it possible to do this for development without having a paid-for end-user-license agreement?
I've moved your question to the RSA SecurID Access" data-type="space space where it will be seen by the product's support engineers, other customers and partners. Please bookmark this page and use it when you have product-specific questions.
Alternatively, from the RSA Customer Support" data-type="space page, click on Ask A Question on the blue navigation bar and choose . From there, scroll to RSA SecurID Access" data-type="space and click Ask A Question. That way your question will appear in the correct space.

I took a look at page 14 of the RSA Authentication Agent 8.0 for Web for Apache Web Server Installation and Configuration Guide and it references RSA Authentication Manager, not RSA Access Manager. I know, the product names can be a bit confusing.
You can request a trial of RSA Authentication Manager license to do your development. Go to RSA SecurID Access Free Trial Offers for more information.
Thanks for the reply. Okay I am confused! Please bear with me.
I am confident that we use RSA Access Manager here. However my understanding is two RSA products are in use. One is RSA Access Manager the other is a Apache Web server plugin. When I mentioned your response regarding RSA Access Manager to our sys-admin his response was:
6.1 current version in production
6.2 Newest version we’re trying to migrate
Now I don't have access to the production servers. But on the test server I see this file:
which contains the text:
RSA Access Manager Agent 4.8 for Apache 2.x-based HTTP Server
So based on your response I now believe downloading:
was a mistake I made. That is, I'm looking for RSA Access Manager 6.2.
Thus if you're able, can you please point me to where I can download a trial version of RSA Access Manager 6.2? If the Apache Web Server plugin for this is a separate download, then a link to that too would be wonderful.
The following terminal output may make it more clear what we currently have installed on Red Hat Enterprise GNU/Linux 5.11:
$ grep ^LoadModule ct-httpd.conf
LoadModule ct_auth_module /opt/rsa-axm/agent-48-apache2/lib/libct_apache22_agent.so
I posted a message over in the area for RSA Access Manager. I asked about getting downloads and/or free trials for:
RSA Access Manager Agent 5.0
RSA Access Manager Server 6.2
Thus far no response. Any advice on obtaining copies of these products would be appreciated.
