Installing the RSA Authentication Manager 8.x Web Tier on a Windows server fails with permission errors
RSA Product Set: SecurID RSA Product/Service Type: Authentication Manager Web Tier RSA Version/Condition: 8.x Platform (Other): Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2012 R2
When installing the Authentication Manager 8.x Web Tier on a Windows server the following errors will be in the <WEBTIER_INSTALL_DIR>\Install_V8~.log, where <WEBTIER_INSTALL_DIR> is the directory path to the Web Tier install directory (by default this will be C:\Program Files\RSA Security\RSA Authentication Manager Webtier).
Exception in thread "Main Thread" com.rsa.ims.security.keymanager.sys.InvalidJNIConfigurationValueException: Unable to load native library systemtools Root cause: java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: no systemtools in java.library.path
Exception in thread "Main Thread" : Execute failed: java.io.IOException: Cannot run program "C:\Program Files\RSA Security\RSA Authentication Manager Webtier\ webtierBootstrapper\220.127.116.11.0\config\classpaths\generateClasspath.cmd" (in directory "C:\Program Files\RSA Security\RSA Authentication Manager Webtier\webtierBootstrapper\18.104.22.168.0\config\classpaths"): CreateProcess error=5, Access is denied
Disabling User Account Control (UAC) and running the installer as administrator does not fix the Access Denied problem.
Causes for these errors have been found to be one or both of the following:
User Account Control (UAC)is enabled on the Windows server and the user running the installer does not have full permissions on the PC; and/or
An Antivirus software or service is running in the background and blocking some .dll or .cmd files from execution.
Follow the steps below to resolve this issue:
Confirm that UAC is disabled using the steps below, then run the installer as administrator:
On the taskbar click Start.
In the search field, type Change User Account Control settings and click Open Change User Account Control settings.
Pull the bar down to the bottom so the options are Never notify me when: Programs try to install software or make changes to my computer and click Ok. Image description
Right click the installer_webtier.bat and choose Run as administrator and try to install again.
If the same errors displays, confirm that all Antivirus software or services running in the background are stopped temporarily during the install process.
