Authentication Agent Compatibility with Server 2016
Hi All
Does anyone know if Authentication Agent 7.2.x is compatible with Windows Server 2016? I know an Agent for Server 2016 is WIP and its more a case of 'is server 2016 backwards compatible', just wondered if anyone had tried it out?
Thanks
(and thanks to HXoAJO8ZmH4Cd4IDur5hejW2DDVPj5MYmaAHIi77NhY= for pointing me int he right direction)

The release notes do not specifically mention windows 2016, only Windows 2012 and for the 7.3.1 agents Windows 10. I searched all our cases, bugs, docs and solutions and there were only two cases asking about support for Windows Server 2016 with the SecurID Authentication agent, one was in Japanese so had a lot of question marks, the other simply stated that it was not supported yet, not ETA or promises as to when.
Obviously it is not something that RSA could ignore, and depending on your attitude for risk taking versus business needs, you might try installing one of the latest builds, either 7.3.1[37] available on this RSA Link web site,
https://community.rsa.com/docs/DOC-58151
or the very recently released 7.3.1[55] available through support

I can't speak for Product Management but I fully expect Win2016 to be supported - meaning any problems will be investigated by Engineering. It may work now, we just have not tried it in Support yet. I'd keep an eye out for the latest Windows agents even next year as we are seeing a lot of Security updates from Microsoft that affect how our agents behave, https://community.rsa.com/message/880803

Also, Windows 2016 has ADFS, perhaps (not sure here) our ADFS agent is compatible ?

In that case we need confirmation and a statement from RSA saying 7.3.1 is supported on Windows 2016 Core as the technet notes say otherwise.

Hi there!
The Authentication Agent for Windows version 7.3.2 has already been qualified for Windows Server 2016. Customers should upgrade to this version of the agent when running on this version of Windows Server.
