Can I upgrade directly from AM 8.2 P02 to AM 8.3

Jump to solution

We're currently running SecurID AM 8.2 P02 and would like to upgrade to 8.3 P5, can we upgrade directly or do we need to upgrade via intermediate versions?

Thanks,

Alun.

Hi Alun,

No you'll have to do it in 3 separate steps.

You will need to upgrade your appliance first to 8.2 SP1, then to 8.3, then to 8.3 P5.

Hi Menna,

Thanks for your answer, it confirms my research and I've already started to download all of the intermediate versions in readiness for the upgrade.

You're totally welcome Alun.

Please make sure that you do the upgrade in parallel to your instances, which means if you have a replica, upgrade first the primary to 8.2 SP1, then the replicas to 8.2 SP1, then the primary to 8.3, then the replicas to 8.3, then the primary to 8.3P5, then the replicas to 8.3P5, one by one, don't start the upgrade on a certain server until the previous server finishes.

Please take a backup before every step you take.

Also, if you're on hardware, please see the following article :

Thankfully these are virtual appliances so I can snapshot the VMs before each upgrade step and take manual backups of the primary instance before each upgrade as well.
