The option Clear existing PIN and set a temporary PIN for the user. is not available.

  1. In the Security Console, click Identity > Users > Manage Existing.

  2. Use the search fields to find the user for whom you want to set an initial on-demand tokencode PIN.

  3. Click the user.

  4. Click SecurID Tokens.

  5. Select Clear existing PIN and set a temporary PIN for the user.

  6. Enter a temporary PIN.

  7. Click Save.

  8. Securely communicate the temporary PIN to the user.

Those instructions for temp pin are for on-demand tokencodes, not tokens. There is no menu option for an admin to set a temporary pin for a token, only an option to clear one.

An admin could set a pin for a users token if you generate an emergency tokencode for the token while it has no pin, and if the admin or user logs into an agent or web interface with the userid and the emergency code, the system will prompt to set up a new pin and that pin now belongs to the underlying token. However this is not recommended to do on a casual basis, it is recommended that users set up their own pins whenever possible, so only one person knows it.
