For any already set up and running system....you want a file with the word rsa-am-update in the name.

This will update/upgrade any of the three types that are already running: hardware, vmware, or hypervisor.

The update patch for already installed servers is the same for all three types of setups.

Only the base images for setting up new unconfigured servers or new replicas is where we have different versions.

We have base hardware factory image 8.1.0 or 8.2.0, and base images for deploying templates into vmware or hypervisor. But once these are up and running, they all will use the same identical patch or update files.

Example: rsa-am-update-8.2.0.0.0 is the file that will update any already running 8.1.1.x.x system to become 8.2.0.0.0.

Okay, then i have found the  update on RSA Authentication Manager 8.1 Downloads witch talk about update the virtual appliance of 8.1, but i didn't find to update to 8.2

I don't know what version is the actual appliance, in /etc/SuSE-release  i have:

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 (x86_64)

VERSION = 11

PATCHLEVEL = 3

So what is the step to update the server + the web RSA Security Console + operation console (version 8.1 SP1 P15).  Because i know that the last time it was updated to SP1P15, the server itself wasn't updated.

For now, i only know this

You must first patch your version to AM 8.1 SP1, then upgrade to AM 8.2. Once you have migrated to AM 8.2, you can then proceed to AM 8.2 SP1.

But what about the server?  Do i update the server first using the link provided at the first line or...?

I'm not sure what step i have to do.
