Migrate RSA Authentication Manager Appliance 8.1 to Virtual Appliance with the same version
Hi.
How do you migrate an RSA Authentication Manager 8.1.1.4 appliance to a VMware Virtual appliance with the same version? What are the steps or best practice to do this?
Thanks.

You can create a replica using the Virtual Image and once it is fully sync'd you can than shut down the old primary and promote the new virtual replica to become the primary.
There are instructions to do this in the administrators guide and you can also change the IP and FQDN to match the primary you are replacing.

Thank you James for your reply.
Our production Authentication Manager appliance has only a Base License installed and we have already a Replica instance running alongside it. I believe for such license, it can only have 1x Replica instance.
What I wanted to do is to set-up a parallel virtual appliance with a different IP address but with the same data as the primary (production) so that I could test it using a test account. Eventually when this is set up and working, I could install a parallel virtual appliance for the replica. Is this possible? I am trying to get my head around the sequence on how to execute this.
Thanks,
Kenneth

You can still add one more replica when the base license says 2 instances is the limit. It will be over limit but will still work. Migration scenarios such as these is exactly why we allow 'an overlimit 2nd replica' to be added.
