Problems with RSA and Linux Authentication Agent

Jump to solution

I am have integrated several RedHat Linux workstations into my Microsoft AD domain.  I'm having issues getting the RSA Authentication Agent configured correctly on these machines.  Instructions I found on RSA's site require a node secret file being downloaded from the primary appliance and used in the installation of the configuration of the authentication agent.  Is there a way for the Linux agent to auto-register with the RSA appliances in my domain just like the Windows agents?  Or, am I doomed for this to be a manual process?

Any help appreciated!

Hi Chris,

Newer SecurID agents use a REST based authentication protocol which does not require a node secret. My recommendation is to use the latest version of the PAM agent (8.1) and to configure the agent in REST mode. This will eliminate the need to register agents entirely so there's no need to worry about auto-registration.

You can find the info on configuring the agent in REST mode in the PAM agent admin guide.

Best,

Randy

This does not appear to be an RSA Identity Governance & Lifecycle question.

Looks like it might be for SecurID.

I will try to move it to one of the SecurID groups for visablity.
