Replication Licensing
Hi support,
We are running Authentication manager 8.3 patch 3 with 1 primary and 2 replica instances. I see a warning on the licensing page as shown in the picture attached. Will the second replica instance still work or do we need to upgrade our licensing?
Thank you for your assistance.
Regards
Mark Cornhill

Hi Mark,
The image would suggest that you are running a BASIC license which only allows the primary and 1 replica instance. We can confirm that if you provide us with the serial number installed in the current deployment.
In the primary Security Console, click Setup > Licenses > Status.
Click View Installed Licenses.
On the Installed Licenses page, click a license ID, and select view to see the serial number.
License type 200 = BASIC (primary and replica)
License type 300 = ENTERPRISE (primary and 14 replicas)
You will need to contact our RSA Sales team if you need to upgrade the license type to allow more replica instances to be attached.
Regards
Ivan

Hi Ivan,
There are two licenses installed with the following details:
<Redacted license number> - Authentication Manager Base
<Redacted feature license number> - Feature License
There is no reference to the numbers as you have indicated.
<Removed two images of license information>

Thanks for the confirmation Mark. You are currently running a Base Server License which only allows the primary and replica instance to be installed in the deployment. You will need to contact our Sales team to upgrade to ENTERPRISE if you require more replica instances to be attached.

Ivan

I see Ivan Batovic has already replied to your question, but I've moved this post to the RSA SecurID Access space where it will be seen by the product's support engineers, other customers and partners. Please bookmark this page and use it when you have product-specific questions.
Alternatively, from the RSA Customer Support page, click on Ask A Question on the blue navigation bar and choose Ask A Product Related Question. From there, scroll to RSA SecurID Access and click Ask A Question. That way your question will appear in the correct space.
Additionally, I've redacted the license information you provided for security purposes.
ETA: In the future, please do not put sensitive information such as your site ID, license number, contract number(s) or any information related to tokens (i. e., serial numbers, batch numbers, etc.) in posts on RSA Link.
Regards,
Erica

A basic license with a two-instance limit does allow a third instance for disaster recovery situations. This allows you to facilitate moving or migrating when your deployment has only a primary and replica so that you are never without at least two servers while completing tasks such as promoting, demoting or rebuilding a server.

Erica
