RSA SecurID

Jump to solution

We are installing the RSA token program "RSA SecurID Software Token with Automation" v 5.0.0.292, we have used the Activation code and Token import url, which worked. But since we have to reimage our machines, now when we try with the same Activation Code and Token Import url, it is not working. Got to know that the Activation code and url are for one time use. Is there a way that we can use the same activation code and url again or we need to ask for new activation code and url.

Have attached the error message screen shot, Please advise.

Thanks

Bhaskar

Bhaskar,

It seems like there are two things going on here.

The first is that it is possible that the activation codes you provided to your end users were set to expire after a defined number of days.  Please confirm if your activation codes are set to expire by doing the following:

  1. From the Security Console, navigate to Setup > System Settings.
  2. Under Authentication Settings, click on Tokens.
  3. Under Dynamic Seed Provisioning, check the Activation Code Expiration.  By default this is set to seven days, as in the screen shot below.  The activation code can only be used for this defined number of days after it is distributed.pastedImage_5.png
  4. If you opt to change this value moving forward, please do so then click Save.

The second reason for the token imported failed error message that you are reporting is that activation codes expire once they are used and once used, cannot be reused.  You will need to generate new activation codes and URLs to the users of the reimaged machines.

Erica
