RSA software token file acquisition

Jump to solution

Hello team,

client purchased software/Hardware tokens long back and now when we need them we got the CDs which contain only hardware tokens and they are imported as well.

but we are not able to track software token file?

can someone please confirm the process to get software token file from RSA and process to import them?

in case of hardware tokens it was fetched from CDs but don't know from where to get software tokens?

Software tokens are the same as hardware tokens... there is a CD, and you decrypt the codes [using the website and CD], to output the XML file and password file used to import the tokens to Security Console.

What is different, is there are no physical tokens to ship. The CD alone is all that is needed***

***Another method is 'e-delivery' where you can download the seeds directly from RSA web site, no CD-rom needed, but that depends on your particular purchase order and if 'e-delivery' was set up for that order.

attached is a pdf showing the typical token record decryption process when a CD is shipped.

NOTE: this CD decryption and download process is only good for 150 days, after 150 days tokens

from the same batch cannot be downloaded from RSA, as they are erased from our systems.

Thanks @Edward.

we saw the order details and software token part number delivery is electronic. so one of them on the client side must have received the email for download instructions, i guess.

is there any other way we can get the tokens?

There is really no way to discuss anyone's particular issue with token seeds and how they are set up to be accessed on a public forum such as this. You will need to contact your RSA account representative to sort out any specific issues to your situation, as any details about your order must remain private.

Thanks @Edward for your suggestion.
